About
The first thing you need to know is that I don’t like “About” pages because they involve writing about yourself. So I’ll be brief. I’ve always been interested in taking photos – I was given my first compact film camera when I was about six or seven. But it’s only since 2003 that I started to realise that there was more to this gig than I originally thought. And it’s only this since January 1st of 2009 that I’ve decided to get off my backside to try and learn a bit about photography.
The Goal
The goal of this whole thing is to take one photo each day for the entire year of 2009. They’re not necessarily going to be good, but the idea is to learn about photography.
05/03/2009
Time to update this part I suppose. The 365 went well – as in I learned a LOT. I was going to launch into a new project, but with work and other committments, I’m going to take a break for a while. I’ll still be out and about with the camera, but I’ll be posting less frequently. This year (my last as a free man) I’ll be concentrating more on getting back into Motorsport – recession be damned!
Inspiration
Why the hell would anyone put themselves to the hassle of trying to take a photo a day? Well, I got a pretty nifty EOS 30D about two years ago. And ever since, I kept saying ‘I must take the time to use that camera’, but never really made any time to learn how to use it properly. I was looking through Kevin and Glenn’s photos last December – that provided the necessary kick up the rear.

If an item above is marked as “New” then I’m very excited about this new piece of equipment, but probably won’t have the opportunity to use it for the next six months or so! If anything is crossed out, I’ve replaced it with the item directly below!!
